#3 Bandung Shopping: Cihampelas Street
Cihampelas Street is one of the most famous places to visit in Bandung, and only a short observation is required to understand why. Rumored to be the longest stretch of continuous road in the world dedicated wholly to garment/fashion shopping, Cihampelas Street is filled from the beginning to the end with numerous shops and stores, all vying to invite customers to visit their places with their own unique decorations, promotions, and selection of items to purchase. It is perhaps no wonder then, that this street is always seemingly crowded with people unable to resist its temptation.
Most people that come to this street are allured first and foremost by the great number of—well, what do you know—Factory Outlets strewn about on this place from the beginning to its end. Cihampelas Street is particularly well known to be the place where you can find everything about jeans—it is arguably the most complete jeans shopping site in Bandung. But even if jeans is not the type that strikes your fancy, with more than 20-25 Factory Outlets spread throughout the street you’ll be hard pressed to not find anything that matches both your mind and your wallet. What you’ll also be hard pressed to do is to find a place like Cihampelas Street in not only Bandung, but in Indonesia as well. For where else can you find many statues of Superheroes such as Batman, Superman, and even the likes of Rambo, Tarzan, and Aladdin welcome you as you shop for your fashion needs? If you are confused as to what I am talking about, see the photos below:

And yes, those are Batman, Superman, and any other assortment of Superheroes or characters made famous in comics and movies. Before you ask, no, I do not know about any possible copyright infringements for those statues (in a country where piracy is as numerous as a bottle of coke, discussion like this is often redundant anyways), but hey, at least they get some extra points for effort.
Cihampelas Street is not always about Factory Outlets, however. Like I’ve mentioned before, there are also a good number of dining spots that you can visit. If you fancy places such as McDonalds, Dunkin Donuts, or Starbucks, well, all of them are available here. However, if you want to try something a bit different, places such as Piccolinos Kebab, La Rush, Yogya Noodles Pak Roso, Sapulidi Restaurant, or Oncom Raos are also available in Cihampelas Street. And for good measure, there’s also a famous modern shopping mall called the Cihampelas Walk (better known as Ciwalk by the locals) available here, with a number of Hotels also available either directly in the street or nearby.

If you are visiting Bandung, you should definitely include Cihampelas Street in your list of places to visit. Just watch your wallet because your money will fly off rather quickly here…
