#3 KAGUM Hotels: Grand Serela Hotel Bandung (Part Two)
This post is, as you should already been able to surmise quite easily from the name entitled to it, will detail (in a broad sense of speaking) Grand Serela Hotel Bandung, continuing from part one. As per usual, whereas the first post of my KAGUM Hotels series mainly tells about my opinion of the room I was shown when I visited, the second post consists of numerous things that crossed my head as I observed various facilities of the Hotel.
Thankfully, the Hotel itself was not that big, so walking around the Hotel was not that difficult or time-consuming.
The first I that I wanted to speak about is the Hotel’s lobby area. I have mentioned about this area before in my previous post, but in here I would like to go into a bit more detail about all the things available in there. From the entrance, straight to the left you can see the Flamingo Lounge, while the Front Desk itself was situated directly across the entrance. Keep walking in and you could see the so-called “Kids Zone” on the right. Truthfully speaking, I honestly thought that it’s not really a “zone” as it appeared as if it was just being “put” there just for the sake so that the Hotel could claim that “there’s a Kids Zone in our Hotel,”—but I digress…, it’s not like I have any kids anyways so it’s not usable for me. Continuing on, there’s a pair of lifts for guests on the left and a small items shop on the right near a side entrance and the stairs heading to 2nd floor (there’s also a separate lift there which I have no idea what for—perhaps it’s also for guests.) The items shop was pretty small so it didn’t have too many availabilities, although at the very least it’s nice that the option was there.

Just a few steps ahead from there was the Grand Serela Hotel Bandung’s main dining location, the Kookaburra Restaurant (on a side note, I really like the restaurant’s name: it’s unique, catchy, memorable, and fun while also at the same time still retains a quality of elegance.) The Restaurant was okay: the place was properly decorated, properly lit, and the food they served was actually pretty decent. All in all, the restaurant was pretty capable of providing me with a pretty satisfactory—in a “it’s to be expected” kind of way—dining experience.

I visited the fitness center (“Eagle”) and spa (“Nature Health & Spa Center”) facilities on the subsequent floors (I took the stairs since it’s a pretty short trip anyways.) The Fitness Center was confined in a rather small facility, although the equipments were somewhat varied and they were positioned in a way that maximizes the limited available space.

The spa fared much better than the fitness center, fortunately. The facility was modest, to be sure, but it’s nice nevertheless to see that a three stars Hotel actually trying to provide a spa facility for its guests. The place was clean, well-maintained, and appropriately furnished enough so that the guests should feel comfortable of utilizing the services provided there.

There’s also a Karaoke Center here, but unfortunately I did not visit it so I do not have any pictures. If you do not mind of seeing the Hotel’s professional (and thus, often more than not getting the ‘touch up’ treatments) photographs, you may want to visit the Hotel’s Flickr Photostream, where the photos of all the Hotel’s facilities are available for everyone to scrutinize.
As usual, you can head to the Hotel’s own website if you want to look for more information. If you want, you can also post a specific question about the Hotel here in this blog or even make a reservation.
